I truly hope that everyone had a fabulous Christmas and would like to wish everyone a healthy and prosperous New Year. I have to admit, outside of the two recent ice storms, we have been fortunate enough to have a pretty mild winter. I know it’s not over, but when you make a trip to Lowe’s and start seeing the Burpee seed packs and setting up with the new outside gazebos and lawn furniture then you know Spring is just around the corner.

I am happy to say HHIA is looking forward to a fabulous year. We will have Steve Butz provide an update on the “Cops Walking a Beat” program. Jennifer Bess from City Seniors will be one of
speakers and also Brooks Goedeker to present information on Special Business Districts at our January 30th meeting at 7:00 PM at the Rec Plex in the Respect Room. Updates from our Neighborhood
Liaison Officer, Neighborhood Improvement Officer and our Alderman.

HHIA has some interesting events we’re in the process of planning for 2017. Won’t you please come and join us at the Rec Plex on Monday, January 30th at 8:00 PM in the “Respect Room”.
Don’t forget it’s HHIA’s annual renewal time for regular membership and business membership. Please visit the HHIA webpage at hollyhills.info/membership or mail your checks to HHIA, Attn: Membership, PO
Box 22144, St. Louis, MO 63116.

Thank you.

I’m hoping that all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving celebrating with family and friends. I am happy to say that Christmas is just around the corner. It’s my favorite time of year, not only reflecting on the birth of baby Jesus but also gathering with friends and family celebrating and reflecting the past year.

At this time I truly would like to thank the HHIA Board Members for volunteering their time and efforts and all of our neighbors for attending our HHIA Meetings to help make Holly Hills a better community. I am happy to say, I feel we have had a very informative year of meetings and a very successful HHIA Grills event and looking forward to the New Year.

We are in the process of finalizing our speakers and look forward to seeing all of you on Monday, January 30, 2017 at 7:00 PM in the “Respect Room” at the Carondelet Rec Plex.

I truly would like to express Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone for the upcoming Holiday Season.

Beautiful landscaping in front of home on Holly Hills Boulevard.

Letter From the President

Yes, Holly Hills is a wonderful place to live. It’s all about family,
friends & community. I have only resided here about 18 years, but I
was pretty much a gypsy (moved around a lot) before I moved
here. Home definitively gives you roots.

Some of you know me as your President of the Holly Hills Improvement Association. But just a gentle reminder, I volunteer and was elected because I truly care about families, friends, and my
neighbors here at Holly Hills. Spring is in the air, birds are chirping
and sometimes we just need a reminder to stop and smell the roses.

Speaking of flowers, hope to see you at the next HHIA meeting at
the Rec Plex on Monday, May 23 at 7:00 pm. Professor Damon Hall
of Saint Louis University will be speaking and presenting information about the upcoming Bee Study Program in the Holly Hills Community Garden and also interested residents who wish to participate in the study.

HHIA’s additional speaker will be Dan Skillman, City of Saint Louis
Parks Department, will be updating us of the ongoing projects in
Carondelet Park.

Don’t forget you can participate by helping keep Holly Hills and its
Boulevards natural beauty by volunteering designated Saturdays and Wednesdays. See “Upcoming Events” on the hollyhills.info webpage and the Greenspace committee also posts the dates and locations on Nextdoor.

Hope to see all of you on Monday, May 23at 7:00 PM in the
“Respect Room” at the Carondelet Rec Plex.

Letter From The President – November 2015

Anna Baldwin - President of HHIA

I just wanted to say thank you for my recent election as President of the Holly Hills Improvement Association. I’d like to share a little of my background for those of you who were not in attendance at our last HHIA meeting, so you can get to know me better.

I have been on the HHIA Board for the past five or six years and am a resident of Holly Hills going on 17 years. I am very passionate about our beautiful community of Holly Hills and that’s mainly the reason I decided to take on this leadership role. I am recently retired from the construction industry as a project coordinator and now am wearing a parttime sales associate hat at Dillard’s South County. I am still active with the National Association of Women in Construction organization here in St. Louis, of which I am a Past President and have been with the organization since 1992. As your new HHIA President, I know I will be filling my life with some special moments and unforgettable times!

I would like to invite all of you to our HHIA Holiday Gathering on Monday, Nov. 16 at 7 PM a the Marine Corps League at 5700 Leona Street. This is a chance to get to know each other in a relaxed atmosphere, with some festive treats and a cash bar. We will be selling chances for a holiday gift basket and our usual 50-50 jackpot. All Holly Hills residents and guests are welcome to attend.
